Things to do in Wilson Hills

Being a nature lover, and having heard a lot about this little hill station; we decided to travel to Wilson Hills last Monsoon. Wilson Hills is the nearest hill station to Surat and also the smallest hill station of Gujarat state.

Wilson Hills

The hill station is located near Dharampur. Wilson Hills is situated in a densely forested region close to the Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary. What makes this little hill station special is that, it is one of the rare hill stations in the world from which we can have a glimpse of the sea!

Having an average elevation 2500 feet, Wilson Hills are popular during the rainy season and summer months as it has a cooler and less humid climate than the surrounding area.

What are the things to do in Wilson Hills?

It is also known as mini Saputara, but it doesn’t really have as many points to see as there are in Saputara. If you enjoy the journey more than the destination, Wilson Hills is the perfect place for you to visit.

Wilson Hills in Monsoon
Wilson Hills during Monsoon

Curvy roads, hills covered with greenery, view of the valley from the top of the hills, farms, little villages and its people make Wilson Hills on of the best places to visit. I personally enjoy the journey more than destination, hence it was a perfect place for me.

Wilson Hills Villages

If you choose Monsoon to visit Wilson Hills, you’ll witness heavenlike atmosphere on Wilson Hills. The hills are always covered with clouds and rains if you visit during Monsoon.

Wilson Hills in Clouds

There are not many points to visit once you reach the top. Major attraction of Willson Hills is Barumal temple, which is located at the middle of the hills.

Barumal temple Wilson Hills

Along with Barumal temple there are several points of attraction. Listing some of them here.

Points of Attraction at Wilson Hills

  • Barumal temple
  • Marble Chatri
  • Steep Valley
  • Ozone Valley
  • Sunrise Point
  • Sunset Point
  • Shankar waterfalls
  • Lady Wilson museum
  • The district science centre
  • Bilpudi twin waterfalls

It will take some forty minutes to reach the top, once you start climbing the hills. There is only one hotel and few shops. When I visited Wilson Hills, there was no hotel or any other staying facility. In short Willson Hills is a place you can visit in a day or less. I definitely liked the place. If you are a nature lover, you would love it too. Great place for photographers and nature lovers.

If you have any doubts or suggestions, write down below in comments; we would love to hear you out. Thanks for reading. Stay tuned to BuddyBits for stories from India and around the world.

Who will get evicted from Bigg Boss 9 on 20th December?

With latest eviction of Kawaljit Singh from Bigg Boss 9, 70% of our Bigg Boss eviction predictions of this season have came out to be true so far. This week six contestants are nominated for eviction from Bigg Boss and all of them are strong contestants of the season. Gisele, Rishabh, Priya, Rochelle, Suyyash and Mandana have been nominated for eviction this week. Keith being the captain of the house was given special power to nominate two contestants. Keith chose Gisele and Mandana. And rest four have been nominated by housemates.

Out of all nominated contestants, Mandana & Rochelle are the strongest contestants. So two of them are definitely safe this week. Priya is also quite smart and strong player of the season. Hence, she is also safe from the eviction. Rishabh, Suyyash and Gisele are in danger zone this week according to me.

Out of Rishabh, Suyyash and Gisele, Gisele is the weakest link right now in the show. She neither have strong fan following nor she is giving content to the show. Hence, Gisele Thakral will be eliminated from the show on 20th December 2015’s eviction episode. If there are two evictions, Suyyash Rai can also get eliminated along with Gisele. Have a look at the eviction ratio.

  1. Gisele Thakral (80%)
  2. Suyyash Rai (12%)
  3. Rishabh Sinha (8%)
  4. Priya Malik (0%)
  5. Mandana Karimi (0%)
  6. Rochelle Rao (0%)

So according to BuddyBits, Gisele Thakral will definitely say goodbye to Bigg Boss 9 this week, and if there are two evictions this week, Suyyash Rai will leave the show along with Gisele. The eviction will be telecasted on 20th December 2015 on Colors channel.

This is Why Surat Should Be Declared the Food Capital of India!

This is why Surat should be declared the Food Capital of India!

Ever heard the Gujarati adage “Surat nu jaman ane Kashi nu maran”? It means (only the truly lucky) eat in Surat and die in Kashi. Surat is undoubtedly a foodies’ paradise, from roadside bhel stalls to multi-cuisine restaurants, Surat has everything a foodie can desire and more. Ever met a Surati living away from home? You’ll probably see them complaining about the food the most. Almost every person that migrates out of Surat immediately regrets it at their next outing.

When you are in Surat you don’t have to search for food, just walk out into the streets and the food will come to you. Suratis love food and the local businessmen are more than happy to cater to this love. To actually see the transformation from a textile hub to a food paradise, ride into the streets after sunset. Food stalls suddenly sprout out like flowers in spring. Every corner and every footpath will have people thronging, waiting their turn to be served with a whole variety of flavors. Never mind the restaurants which will always have a waiting list on weekends and holidays, no matter how big or small they are.

Bhajiya in Surat
Bhajiyas

Besides the usual sight of fast food restaurants generally found in cities, like McDonalds, KFC and Pizaa Hut, which are dime a dozen in the popular parts of the city, the city also has a lot of local speciality food joints. The most popular of the local foods here are Locho, Rassa wala Khaman, Fafda, Aloo Puri, Khaja and Ghari. And even in these the vendors add their own touch to make them even more interesting.

Idada in Surat
City’s invention Idada

The city has a weird liking for street food. The footpaths of Gaurav path at Piplod is among the most popular eating places in Surat. Yes, people sitting on a chatai spread on the footpath, eating food from a nearby stall is a very common site on this street. And this is a very popular trend even among the upper middle class crowd. You might even see a Mercedes parked nearby. There are no rules in Surat when food is concerned.

Dabeli in Surat
Kutchi Dabeli in Surat’s own flavour

Piplod is where you want to go if you are confused about what and where to eat. There are a huge number of stalls operating just outside popular food brand stores selling a whole variety of Parathas, Punjabi dishes, Sandwiches, Vada Pau, Pau Bhaji, Dosas, Pizzas, Pani-Puris and Whatnots. Choosing between a restaurant and a roadside lari is a very tough decision for a Surati.

Roasted Chicken Surat
Roasted Chicken

For those especially into non-vegetarian foods Surat wouldn’t let you down either. The Anda laris (egg stalls) are spread across the city and some are so popular that they are used as landmarks. Among the many are names like Bhai-Bhai omlet centre, Raju in Adajan, Ganesh near Moti talkies and the Eggitarian Café opposite VNSGU. These are by no means the only laris you would want to eat at. Head out into the Zampa bazaar and explore the Rander area for some of the best egg dishes you’ll ever eat. The dishes you should look out for here are the Naan-chaaps, Seekh Parathas, Irani Paratha and egg rotis. If you’re looking for a heavy breakfast, just go to Zampa bazaar and ask for baara handis (12 pots). If you’re not feeling very adventurous you can always order the regular Tandooris and Biryaanis. Don’t forget to ask for seasonal dishes.

Dahi Chat Surat
Surti Locho

If you’re not that hungry you can always enjoy the variety of snacks Surat has to offer. Aloo Puri is among the most commonly found snacks. Add that to Bhel Puri, Chats, Dahi Puri, Frankie and a fairly recent addition, Khawsa, you can never get bored of eating, even if you want to. But that is not all; you can always indulge in the traditional Gujarati dishes like Bhajiya, Dhokla, Idada, Khaman, Khandvi and a whole lot of other “Farsan” items. During the winters, Ponk, a variety of sorghum only found in this part of the world, changes the snack menu. Prepared in a special way, it becomes the primary snack of all Suratis. Ponk is eaten with different kinds of spicy sev. Ponk vadas served with chutney are also something you should not miss.

Surat Cold Coco
Surat’s own Cold Coco

And how can I forget about the most important part of the meal, the desert! Apart from the regulars like ice-creams, Kulfis and sweets, Surat has a lot of different items to tend to your sweet tooth. Cold Coco, Faludas and Lassi are very common in Surat. The traditional sweets like the Surati Ghari are well known across the world.

Ice Dish in Surat
Ice Dish

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot hidden in some street corner that even the most adventurous local foodie has not yet discovered. To taste all of it and to write about it would require months of dedicated exploration and writing. What more do you need as proof that Surat is indeed the food capital of India.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer!

DSLR is the new guitar. There were times when people would learn to play guitar, to impress the opposite sex. But then a freak thought, ‘How about photography- I can stare her, click her and impress her at the same time!!’. And then came this viral trend of clicking random shit and uploading it on Facebook page titled ‘FirstName LastName Photography’. But when it comes to serious photographers, they’re story-tellers indeed. And you should refrain from pulling your silly out on them by saying:

1. Bhai, DSLR hai kya?

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

DSLR doesn’t define a photographer. A skilled one can compose beautiful shots with a simple digital camera too.

2. Abey, Farhan Qureshi hai kya?

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

3 Idiots was a cool movie. But mocking your engineering friend because he has a passion for photography is not cool. Photography is like yoga, and there’s no need for you to be Baba Ramdev to practice it.

3. Ek Button hi toh Dabana Hai.

3. 10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

Clicking a pic is uber-simple. But knowing when to click, to make the pic stunning, is the real deal. So ya, button dabana is much more than what you think.

4. Bhai, meri Budday Party hai. Tu aaega na…Camera leke?

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

Don’t play the ‘friend’ card. If you want a photographer-friend to cover an event, be honest and direct.

5. Tu bass kheench, edit toh mai khud kar lunga.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

These days, composing a shot is not just about clicking. There’s a whole lot that goes behind the scene in editing it. Picasa might not help you every-where.

6. Khambe ko chhod, Insaano ki Photu le.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

If that’s your opinion, please stay away from photographers. An image is a composition of numerous elements, clearly visible to a photographer and a real appreciator.

7. This is nice. Aisa ek aur le lo.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

I would refer you some pills to inculcate logic. If this one’s already good, then why the other one!

8. Waha light zyada achhi hai.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

It’s the photographers job!! Let him/her do that.

9. Zindagi bhar kya kide makodo ki tasveer leni hai.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

This is for the parents of talented about to be photographers. At least have a look at their work, you’ll get the answer.

10. Bhaiya, ek ye pose me bhi le lo.

10 Things You Should Never Say to a Photographer

No No No! A humble request to all the ladies out there, stop calling the Photography guy at the wedding ‘bhaiya’. Ask him simply, he’ll click with a smile!

Suyyash Rai to be eliminated from Bigg Boss 9

Four days ago, we predicted that either Gisele Thakral or Suyyash Rai will leave Bigg Boss 9 this week. And Suyyash Rai has been eliminated from the most popular Indian TV reality show according to our sources.

Suyyash Rai was believed to be one of the strongest contestants of the show has been eliminated from the show and will be seen leaving the house in 20th December 2015’s episode.

Gisele Thakral who was recently entered in the show was believed to be the weakest link from all six nominated contestants. We have also heard that for the first time, mass voting has been done for a contestant of Bigg Boss. And which is done for Gisele according to the sources. Her film Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 is coming early next year. And both Gisele & Mandana have worked in the film. And Gisele’s stay in Bigg Boss is ensured by KKHH team if sources are to be believed.

With this, equations in Bigg Boss’ house will definitely change. Kishwer is now alone, cool group will also break and Rochelle coming in Danger Zone will definitely alert her.

Instant Articles, Facebook’s Weapon to Fight with Google!

Instant Articles, Facebook's Weapon to Fight with Google

The other day, I was thinking how Google shares some percentage of the revenue it makes from advertisements with its publishers. And how Facebook just take the money from advertisers and gives back nothing to anyone. But well, introducing Instant Articles. Facebook has launched a tool for news publishers to publish articles which load faster and in more interactive on Facebook’s app.

What are Instant Articles?

Facebook Instant Articles

Whenever you post an article link on Facebook, it takes around 8 seconds to load. But same articles will load 10 times faster with Instant Articles according to Facebook. Video in Instant Articles will autoplay once you scroll down to the video. You can zoom-in and zoom-out photos in Instant Articles, which generally is not possible in web articles unless publishers make it possible.

How do Instant Articles work?

At this moment, Facebook has made Instant Articles available for selected news publishers. It will be launched for all in future. Once you sign up for Instant Articles, your current website will be synchronized with this tool. Once you post new article on your website, Instant Articles will fetch it using RSS & HTML and will convert it into Instant Article format for Facebook App users.

Can publishers show Advertisements on Instant Articles?

This is the most important question for any publisher. Will Facebook allow publishers to display their ads on Instant Articles? Well yes. Facebook allows publishers to display their ads on their platform.

And in addition, Facebook will provide an opportunity to leverage Facebook’s ads network to generate extra revenues! Yes. You will be given choice to display ads of advertisers on Facebook. And you will get to keep the money (after Facebook has kept its share).

Is it beneficial to Publishers?

Instant Articles are definitely beneficial for publishers because it will load your articles faster with clean layout. Chances of a user clicking Instant Article will be higher than clicking regular article in near future because of ease of loading and reading. Plus Facebook will not interfere if you want to display ads in Instant Articles. They will let you keep 100% of the revenue of ads you display. In addition, if you opt in for Ads from Facebook Advertisers, you get to keep 70% of total revenues. So Instant Articles are definitely going to change the way to publish content!

Why Instant Articles is Facebook’s weapon to fight with Google?

Right now, income of majority of news publishers & bloggers depends on Google’s Adsense (a program where Google sell ads to publishers). And most of the publishers use Facebook for content marketing.

An Example

Let’s take an example to understand this situation. Google approached advertisers to publish their ads on websites of publishers they are associated with. For example, Google gets 10 advertisers to advertise on their network of 100 websites with average 100 hits each. Now these publishers used to get 80% of traffic from Facebook. Which means, out of 10,000 total hits, they used to get 8,000 from Facebook marketing.

Now let’s imagine all publishers signing up for Facebook Instant Articles. In that case, Facebook gets 8,000 hits with not so much efforts! They are allowing ads from publishers right now. And if publishers opt for Facebook Ads to publish in their Instant Articles, Facebook shares 70% of the total revenue with publishers right now. Eventually, Facebook will change this share percentages and maybe ad display policy too. But right now, Facebook is trying to gain all potential publishers to its platform from Google!

If Google doesn’t come up with a stronger weapon, Facebook is surely going to win this fight. And Google which gets 20% of its revenue from Adsense program is surely in trouble! With Instant Article program, Facebook want to monopolize the content market! Beware Google, Facebook is coming!

Want to Kill Yourself? Read This

Have you ever thought of committing suicide? Have you ever thought of ending your life? Well, then you must read this story I found on the internet.

I’ll tell you a story.

Imagine this.

You come home after getting your results. It was really horrible (or you think so). You’re just ready to give up.

So you go to your room, close the door, and write down a suicide note.

You take out those razor blades, and cut for the very last time.

You grab that bottle of pills and take them all. Laying down, holding the letter to your chest, you close your eyes for the very last time.

A few hours later, your little brother knocks on your door to come tell you that the dinner is ready. You don’t answer, so he walks in. All he sees is you laying on your bed, so he thinks you’re asleep. He tells this to your mom.

Your mom goes to your room to wake you up. She notices something is odd. She grabs the paper in your hand and reads it. Sobbing, she tries to wake you up. She’s screaming your name.

Your brother, so confused, runs to go tell Dad that “Mummy is crying and sissy won’t wake up.”

Your dad runs to your room.

He looks at your mom, crying, holding the letter to her chest, sitting next to your lifeless body. It hits him, what’s going on, and he screams. He screams and throws something at the wall. And then, falling to his knees, he starts to cry.

Your mom crawls over to him, and they sit there, holding each other, crying, weeping with tears.

The next day at school, there’s an announcement. The principal tells everyone about your suicide. It takes a few seconds for it to sink in, and once it does, everyone goes silent.

Everyone blames themselves.

Your teachers think they were too hard on you.

Those mean popular girls, they think of all the rubbish things they’ve said to you.

That boy that used to tease you and call you names, he can’t help but hate himself for never telling you how beautiful you really are.

Your ex boyfriend, the one that you told everything to, that broke up with you… He can’t handle it. He breaks down and starts crying, and goes out of the school.

Your friends? They’re sobbing too, wondering how they could never see that anything was wrong, wishing they could have helped you before it was too late.

And your best friend? She’s in shock.

She can’t believe it.

She knew what you were going through, but she never thought it would get that bad.

Bad enough for you to end it.

She can’t cry, she can’t feel anything. She stands up, walks out of the classroom, and just sinks to the floor.

Shaking, screaming, but no tears coming out.

It’s a few days later, at your funeral. The whole town came.

Everyone knew you, that girl with the bright smile and bubbly personality.

The one that was always there for them, the shoulder to cry on.

Lots of people talk about all the good memories they had with you, there were a lot.

Everyone’s crying, your little brother still doesn’t know you killed yourself, he’s too young.
Your parents just said you died. It hurts him, a lot.

You were his big sister, you were supposed to always be there for him.

Your best friend, she stays strong through the entire service, but as soon as they start lowering your casket into the ground, she just loses it. She cries and cries and doesn’t stop for days.

It’s two years later. The whole school talks to a counsellor therapist at least once a week.
Your teachers all quit their job.

Those mean girls have eating disorders now.

That boy that used to tease you cuts himself.

Your ex-boyfriend doesn’t know how to love any more and just sleeps around with girls.

Your friends all go into depression.

Your best friend? She tried to kill herself.

She didn’t succeed like you did, but she tried.

Your brother? He finally found out the truth about your death.

He self harms, he cries at night, he does exactly what you did for years leading up to your suicide.

Your parents? Their marriage fell apart.

Your dad became a workaholic to distract himself from your death.

Your mom got diagnosed with depression and just lays in bed all day.

People care.

You may not think so, but they do.

Some of your choices don’t just affect you.

They affect everyone.

Don’t end your life, you have so much to live for.

Now tell me, do you still want to kill yourself when you can live? You have been given this beautiful life to live it to the fullest. Everyone gets the same life. But everyone treats it differently. Would you like to make the best out of your life or want to waste it? When you can travel the world, watch movies, eat Pizzas, make Pizzas, dance, sing and play; will you still choose to waste it by ending it? How you live your life is in your own hands. If you are hurt by something, you better make that thing pay for it. Your life is precious. By even thinking about ending it, you are disrespecting it.

Desperate Prince Narula fans cause Twitter ruckus on Mandana Karimi

As the Bigg Boss 9 Grand Finale draws close, fans of various contestants are predictably slugging it out on Twitter.

But one legion which is the nastiest of them all, belongs to the ‘Gautam Gulati makeover’ called Prince Narula. His fans have gone so desperate to announce him as ‘a winner’ that they are attacking whoever comes in the way.

One such target they caught on to last week, turned out to be firebrand Mandana Karimi’s publicist Dale Bhagwagar. After he opposed them for photo-shopping popularity polls and screenshots of their idol trending on Twitter, they lashed out at the publicist in hundreds, with all sorts of wicked barbs.

The only thing they hadn’t realized is that this public relations man is a master at spin, and a specialist with handling the publicity for reality television contestants. Soon he began catching them word for word, and giving it back to them fact by fact.

Most of Narula’s malevolent fans backed off. Some blocked him in desperation while others began using swear words, losing arguments and ultimately giving up.

“My PR clients are like children to a mother. I can’t let their branding be taken for granted,” Dale tweeted. “After all, image-protection is part of my job. I’m their armour while they are in Bigg Boss, and no army can penetrate that,” he added with a wink emoticon.

Changing Gujarati Cinema!

Changing Gujarati Cinema by Abhishek Jain

Gujarati cinema before the era of urban Gujarati films

Almost a century back, when Indian Cinema was just taking its baby steps, very prominent Gujaratis were part of this revolution. Be it in film production, distribution, crew or cast, Gujaratis have  played important roles since then and till date they are the leading force in one or the other way. Back in 60s-70s Gujarati regional cinema was considered to be more promising industry than any mainstream industry in this country. Suddenly the monotony of content, the rustic milieu and demi god portrayals saw a withdrawal from audiences’ interest. They moved on to own up and love Hindi mainstream cinema more than their own regional films.

Since 1980s, Gujarati cinema has tried to establish itself on national map, but it continues to languish in the backwaters and seldom creating a ripple in the national circuit. Once, a flash of brilliance with films like Bhavni Bhavai or Hun Hunshi ane Hunshilal were produced, which claimed it to the national awards, but the major portion of Gujarati cinema is still dominated by traditional larger-than-life costume dramas with usually either love stories set in rustic backgrounds or stories dealing with religion and superstition form the staple fare for these films. The audience however doesn’t remain limited to Gujarat, but to some parts of Mumbai and over to thousands of NRIs in United States and across the world.

Bhavni Bhavai Gujarati Movie

The only solution to this is to produce films which match set standards of National Film Industry- Bollywood, not only with actors and scripts but also with high production quality; having said that, sticking to the roots and portraying the stories from the land should be a priority- A need to bring a film which can give platform to established talents and upcoming talents to an entire untapped market of Gujarati cinema. This will be accomplished only when we have our Guajarati actors and Guajarati crew in Bollywood, to work together for this industry.

The scenario has changed since last 3-4 years and specifically youth participation has brought a sea of change in perception towards the Gujarati films. Not only young filmmakers, but young audience has been lured to the box office. The change is perception and a fresh approach towards these multiplex films has brought a new wave in the never explored arena of Gujarati films market. If this momentum continues and all kinds of content cater to the different segments of audience base, this industry will have a long way and I can personally say that I am fortunate to be part of this change. Very special thanks to the audiences for being so considerate and owning up to Gujarati films.

Why did I choose Gujarati cinema?

To make my first feature film in Gujarati language was a very personal choice, I wanted to tell a story that I have been living with, that I have experienced in my years of growing and when there was nothing being made for audiences like me who would like to go and watch a film in multiplex where you get to see banners of a Hollywood film along with a Mainstream Bollywood film and in addition there are some niche films and experimental film, then why not our own regional film too. This thought keep on pressing me to move back to Ahmedabad and start making a film in Gujarati. It was more so an emotional decision than a commercial decision. Later when Kevi Rite Jaish became a hit, I realized that the audience was probably craving for their regional content, it was we (filmmakers) who were presuming things and hesitating from taking a plunge.

Contribution to the trend of Urban Gujarati Films

I can’t take the credit for this change after KRJ, because before KRJ there were many other good films been produced. May be the timing was wrong or may be the multiplexes were not open to release a Gujarati film, but with KRJ one can definitely say that the multiplexes opened their arms and warmly welcomed Gujarati films because they saw a potential audience base which was hungry for more such content. This was about it, later after KRJ there were so many changes that came in, especially the young filmmakers who would organically get drawn towards more greener pastures in main stream Bombay cinema, chose to stay back and contribute, they were ready to risk everything and that we can see today most of the film’s release post 2012 are directed by under 40s directors.

How can a Gujarati contribute to the industry as an audience?

One cannot levy a responsibility or force an audience to watch a Gujarati film; ultimately they are paying their hard earned money and expecting entertainment. But what actively can be done is that if the audience likes a Gujarati film, they can own it up and spread the word. Till today, there is nothing better than the word-of-mouth publicity. Keeping the economics in perspective, it is difficult for a producer to pump in huge amount for marketing of a Gujarati film, so if audiences like the film, their communication to others, can really work wonders.

Role of media/ multiplexes/ government in promoting Gujarati cinema

As far as media and multiplexes role is concerned, they have been generous enough to support Gujarati films, without any bias or prejudice they have given way to Gujarati filmmakers and a fair chance has been practised. The government soon will plunge and be party to it and there are some great reforms are awaited, which will suddenly uplift the industry to another level. Be it in form of subsidy, tax free (which every Gujarati film is already), screens allotment, subsidies rates of equipments, eco system, awards and gratifications everything has been taken into consideration and in coming days we all will be celebrating this big participation from the government.

Does Gujarati cinema have a potential to surpass other Regional Cinemas?

Considering the population of Gujarati speaking audiences and their prosperity to spend money on watching films, I think Gujarati cinema has a fair chance to surpass the other regional sectors, but there is a long way to go before even a light seeps into this tunnel.

The future of Gujarati Cinema

The future of Gujarati cinema is wonderful, it is youthful, it is energetic, it is bubbling. Consider this, in the last 3 years suddenly people have started talking about Gujarati films in all kinds of social circuit, people have started showing keen interest in producing and financing Gujarati films, audiences have started demanding for more regional content, all this is just last 2-3 years is a clear sign that if we continue with this flow, things are only going to be wonderful.

Why should financiers/ producers back Gujarati cinema?

At this junction, I can say that it’s a risky proposition for the ones who want to enter for the sake of it, produce one film and move on to something else. The ones who are looking at investing corpus funds, someone with a vision of more films than just one will survive the battle. It is simple economics of the business; you invest more in multiple projects and find a right balance in recovery so the risk percentage also reduces. Talking clearly by ROI, today one cannot surely commit a recovery, sheer due to expenses in making a film, marketing it and distributing it but if one has to look at the bigger picture, he will definitely have the smile at the end of the day.

Suggestions for upcoming Gujarati filmmakers

All kinds of genres will be attempted, some will be a massive hit and few will get a Lukewarm response but this should not discourage anyone to attempt something different. Because blindly following success of someone else’s film will be like following the herd and eventually stereotyping the industry and making it more rigid. To understand the economics of the film vis a vis its reach and target group will help one decide the budget and sticking to the budget will help the filmmakers recover well. If that happens, even niches genre will be attempted and a variety of content can be offered.

My contribution to Gujarati cinema apart from making films

The best I know in my life is to make films, and that’s the best way to contribute to Gujarati cinema. I am doing my bit by sharing my experiences, mostly my mistakes so that anyone else, who is making a Gujarati film, doesn’t commit the same mistakes. We are all young people will no ego problems and we know that if we all get together and work towards the right intent for the industry, things will change and this is how I am contributing, by being a participant to every other Gujarati film that is been made. In whatever capacity I can be helpful, I am willing to take it up. Staying together is growing together and that’s what my contribution is.

Gujarati cinema of my dream

When I started, I couldn’t even dream because everything would only seem to be like a nightmare but now things have changed this is the Gujarati cinema of my dreams. Where filmmakers are excited to make Gujarati films, Producers are open to put in money, audiences are looking forward to watch Gujarati films, media is generous to support, multiplexes seek a business opportunity in playing Gujarati films and Government is cushioning the entire growth journey. This is more than a dream is a reality now.

Who will get eliminated from Bigg Boss 9 on 27th December?

Last week we predicted Gisele Thakral’s eviction from the most popular Indian reality show Bigg Boss. But the show makers cancelled eviction last week. Two contestants will be eliminating this week. Nominated contestants this week are same as last week. Mandana Karimi, Rochelle Rao, Suyyash Rai, Rishabh Sinha, Priya Malik and Gisele Thakral are nominated for eviction. And two out of these six will get evicted from Bigg Boss 9 this week.

Mandana and Rochelle being the strongest contestants of the show, are definitely safe from elimination this week. Even Rishabh has turned out to be a strong contestant, so he won’t get evicted this week. Three contestants, Gisele, Suyyash and Priya are in danger zone this week. And two out of these three will definitely get evicted this week.

According to us, Gisele Thakral will definitely get evicted from Bigg Boss this week. And Suyyash stands higher chances of getting evicted after Gisele. So we predict Gisele and Suyyash’s eviction this week. If not Suyyash, Priya will get eliminated from the show. Have a look at the eviction ratio.

  1. Gisele Thakral (60%)
  2. Suyyash Rai (25%)
  3. Priya Malik (15%)
  4. Rishabh Sinha (0%)
  5. Mandana Karimi (0%)
  6. Rochelle Rao (0%)

Bigg Boss might show two separate eviction episodes this week. In that case, Gisele will get evicted in mid-week eviction and Suyyash or Priya will follow her in the weekend eviction episode.

Nora Fatehi to get evicted from Bigg Boss on 3rd December

Last week, Gisele Thakral got eliminated from Bigg Boss 9 as we had predicted. With Gisele’s eviction, our prediction score is 75% for this season so far. We are back with our prediction.

This week, Bigg Boss introduced a twist in nomination. Bigg Boss called Kishwer Merchant, Priya Malik and Rochelle Rao in double trouble room. Bigg Boss put a situation in front of them and as all three pressed the button in double trouble room, every housemate is nominated for eviction this week.

Rochelle, Mandana and Prince out of all contestants are pretty strong. So they aren’t going to get evicted this week. Along with them Kishwer, Priya and Rishabh are also strong contestants and won’t get eliminated this week. Suyyash, Keith and Nora are definitely in danger zone this week.

But according to me, Keith and Suyyash will be safe this week as both of them have more fan following than Nora. As Nora is a wild card entry. So, according to BuddyBits, Nora will get evicted from Bigg Boss this week. Suyyash and Keith would be my next choice for eviction after Nora. Have a look at the eviction ratio.

  1. Nora Fatehi (90%)
  2. Suyyash Rai (5%)
  3. Keith Sequeira (5%)
  4. Kishwer Merchant (0%)
  5. Priya Rai (0%)
  6. Rishabh Sinha (0%)
  7. Rochelle Rao (0%)

Nora Fatehi gets evicted from Bigg Boss on 3rd December

Nora Fatehi gets eliminated from the most popular Indian reality show Bigg Boss 9 as we had predicted earlier this week. Nora was nominated for eviction from the house along with co-contestants Prince Narula, Mandana Karimi, Keith Sequeira, Rishabh Sinha and Suyyash Rai. She has been shown the door of the house and will be seen leaving the house in 3rd January’s episode.

Nora Fatehi had entered in the house of scandal as a wild card contestant few weeks back. Her claim to fame was her role in the blockbuster movie Bahubali. She was mostly known in Bigg Boss for her relationship with co-contestant Prince Narula. Prince and Nora were seen in the house very close. Prince even proposed to Nora, to which she didn’t react.

Well, looks like audience didn’t like her chemistry with Prince. For more exclusive news and predictions, stay tuned to BuddyBits.

Who will win Bigg Boss 9? Poll and Prediction!

Ninth season of the most popular Indian reality show has come to the end. In just few days, one contestant will be crowned as the winner of ninth season of the show. Who do you think will win Bigg Boss 9? Check our prediction and public poll in the article.

Bigg Boss 9 Public Opinion Poll

Which Bigg Boss 9 contestant do you like the most?

Bigg Boss 9 Winner Prediction by BuddyBits

As we have been predicting Bigg Boss winners since past few seasons, we are back with our prediction yet again. Last year, it was pretty clear that either Gautam Gulati or Karishma Tanna will win the season. Same way, I feel there are three contestants in this season who have got chance to win the show.

At the beginning of the show, Keith Sequeira, Prince Narula, Aman Verma were believed to make it to the finale. But as we know, Aman Verma is already out and even Keith doesn’t seem to have chances to win the show now. His exit from the house for three weeks due to his brother’s demise is the reason behind his decreased fan following.

Well, now coming back to the point, Prince Narula is still standing strong and he is definitely going to be in the finale of Bigg Boss 9. And the two contestants who will join him in the finale are also pretty clear now. Mandana Karimi and Rochelle Rao will be joining Prince Narula in the finale.

Top 5 Prediction

According to me, these five contestants are definitely going to make it to the finale.

  • Mandana Karimi
  • Kishwer Merchant
  • Rishabh Sinha
  • Rochelle Rao
  • Prince Narula

According to me, Prince, Rochelle and Mandana will be in top 3. Rishabh Sinha will come on fourth position and Kishwer Merchant will stand on fifth position according to me. Priya Rai, who is a wild card contestant will be standing sixth next to Kishwer.

According to my calculations, Keith and Priya won’t even stand in the finale of this season. Which means, they will get evicted in coming weeks before the final week.

Who will win Bigg Boss 9?

There’s a tough fight between Prince, Mandana and Rochelle for the winner position. All three have contributed equally to the show. After Keith’s re-entry, Rochelle has became weak. If Keith gets eliminated this week, I am damn sure Rochelle will have equal chances of winning the title.

For now, it is between Prince and Mandana. And from these two, everyone thinks Prince is leading the chart. But I think otherwise. I feel Mandana has brighter chances of winning 9th season of Bigg Boss.

Top 3 Prediction on 4th January

  1. Mandana Karimi
  2. Prince Narula
  3. Rochelle Rao

So today (4th January), we predict Mandana Karimi as the winner of Bigg Boss 9. But if Keith exits the house before finale, equations in the house will definitely change. Hence our final prediction will be posted on 16th January.

Don’t forget to check BuddyBits’s winner prediction on 16th January, 2016. Stay tuned for more exclusive insights and predictions from Bigg Boss and around the world.

Who will get evicted from Bigg Boss 9 on 10 January?

Who will get evicted from Bigg Boss 9 on 10 January?

So finale of the ninth season of the most popular TV reality show is near. And there are only two evictions left before the finale. Who won’t make it to the finale? Read on to find out.

This week, five contestants are nominated for eviction. Rishabh Sinha, Priya Rai, Kishwer Merchant, Keith Sequeira and Rochelle Rao are nominated for the eviction. From all nominated contestants, Rochelle Rao is the strongest one. She will also be one of the finalists. Hence, she is not going anywhere this week. Along with Rochelle, Kishwer too is a strong contestant. Hence, Rochelle and Kishwer are definitely safe this week.

Priya and Rishabh are sort of equal on the content contribution part. Both are equally strong or you can say equally weak. But at this point of time, I feel Priya lacks fan following. Hence, she will join Keith Sequeira in the danger zone. Keith, who was believed to be one of the strongest contestants of the season at the beginning of the show has now became weaker. His exit from the show for three weeks due to his brother’s demise is the reason.

Hence, Priya and Keith will be in danger zone this week. And I feel, Keith will get evicted from Bigg Boss 9 on 10th January 2016. Have a look at the eviction ratio.

  1. Keith Sequeira (70%)
  2. Priya Rai (30%)
  3. Rishabh Sinha (0%)
  4. Kishwer Merchant (0%)
  5. Rochelle Rao (0%)

[% denotes chances of getting evicted from the show.]

So according to BuddyBits, Keith Sequeira will get eliminated from Bigg Boss 9 this week and his eviction will be telecasted on 10th January. Stay tuned to BuddyBits for more insights and predictions.

Kishwar Merchant took money and left Bigg Boss 9?

Kishwar Merchant took money and left Bigg Boss 9

So finale of the ninth season of the most popular Indian reality show is almost here and Bigg Boss introduced the biggest twist of this season yesterday. Bigg Boss introduced Ticket to Finale task. All housemates except Keith Sequiera participated in the task and Mandana Karimi, Prince Narula and Kishwar Merchant reached to the second stage of the task.

In second stage, Bigg Boss asked all three contestants to press the buzzer. First one to press the buzzer would get out from the ticket to finale task. Second participant will get Rs. 6,33,335 and will have to leave the house immediately. And last one to press the buzzer will win ticket to the finale task and will enter in the finale of Bigg Boss 9.

Mandana Karimi pressed the buzzer first, hence she got out of the task. Later, as Kishwar and Prince were not giving up, Bigg Boss kept increasing price money.

And according to sources, Kishwar Merchant took huge mount of money and left the house. The news is not confirmed yet, but that’s what we have heard. There is also a possibility of someone being sent to the secret room after he/ she gave up.

In past, Bhakhtyar Irani and Rahul Mahajan have accepted the price money and have left the show before finale. And Ashmit Patel was saved even after he decided to leave by taking money. So we don’t really know if someone from Kishwer or Prince will really get evicted or not. What do you think? Who should accept the money to leave the house? Tell us in comments.

10 Stereotypes about Gujaratis We Need to Get Over

Once upon a time, in the streets of Amdavad, when the clouds of monotony and boredom were taking over the city, there rose a superhero. One, who was never seen before, but was now the only hope to save the city and the world from boredom. He saw the villain standing down the street. The villain stares at him. He’s walking, step by step, as his footsteps start sounding heavier, and his shadow starts growing bigger, he reaches near the villain. Looking him in the eyes he says….’Aey haalo!!’. With Dandiya in one hand, dhokla in another, and kediyo/ chanyaacholi as his/her superhero costume, a typical Gujju is always against boredom. That’s what Gujjus stand for- full fledged entertainment in any given situation. So, get yourself a newer perspective over your known Gujjubhai:

1. Money, Money, Money

They aren’t always thinking about Money! Okay, that’s a lie, but there’re times when Money becomes second on their list. Heard of Navaratri?

2. It ij Engliss

Maximum of typical Gujjubhais aren’t having the fanciest accents. Imagine your boss droping in to say, ‘Rameshbhai…You are phaayard.’ But then, who needs an accent when you’ve honest intentions conveyable in any given situation!

3. Gujarati Food = Dessert

Yes, Gujju food might be as sweet as they themselves are. But if that’s all you know, try Surti Food.

4. Life Motive: American Visa

That’s so not true! Gujjus are also in UK. And in Australia, and in Canada, and New Zealand. And, well any place on the planet. NASA claims to have found some dhokla on the Mars too.

5. They’re couch potatoes

Ya, that’s true. Sunita Williams went to space on a couch. And Yusuf Pathan bats while sitting on a couch. And Dhirubhai Ambani became a billionaire while sitting on the couch throughout his life.

6. They’ve no dressing sense.

Who needs a dressing sense when you’ve business, employing hundreds of people. Gujjus care about personality, attire is for commoners.

7. They only befriend other Gujjus

Another misconception. Be with a Gujju for a week. And you’ll become a Gujju, then spreading the Gujjuness all around.

8. Gujjus are never on time

Tell your Gujju friend, you’ve a mind-boggling business idea. And wait for 30 secs. He’ll leave his wedding and come!

9. They miss basic etiquettes

In Gujarat, every man is bhai and every other lady is behen. So, everyone’s a part of the extended family. And family knows no formality! So, always be ready for some love and care from a stranger.

10. Gujju women are very gossipy

Well, why limit to Gujju women!

A Gujju may be lousy. A Gujju may be money minded.  A Gujju might be a foodie. But that’s not even the tip of the iceberg. Beyond this lies the true spirit of a Gujju: a true hearted, honest, sweet individual, who knows a little about everything but everything about his little business. So if you do find a Gujju friend, cherish him/ her.
