Ranveer Singh knows how to stay in limelight 24×7. Be it wearing unique clothing or performing stunts in public place. One of his such recent stunts seems to have failed. He was on promotion of his upcoming film Gully Boy at Lakme fashion week in Mumbai.

He along with rapper Naezy and other artists sand Apna Time Aayega and then the actor decided to dive into the audience. But the dive didn’t go smoothly. The actor fell on members of the audience, leaving the audience sprawling on the ground.

Twitter is obviously pissed off.

Twitter users are sharing photo of a new article in Mid Day newspaper’s 4th Feb edition titled “The Rough Landing” where Singh is seen jumping along with the members of the audience on ground.

The user further wrote,

Ranveer fans actually have the audacity to talk about random negative SRK incidents from the past. Being a fan of a person makes people so dumb. Why can’t you accept that the person you stan isn’t a God, he’s a mere human. Just accept his idiocy and hope he never repeats it.

Another user posted,

One user also shared video from the event.

People are seemingly furious with the actor.

One user was also seen defending the actor.

We’d definitely suggest Ranveer Singh to inform audience in advance before performing such stunts in future.

Us young generation of desis, apart from our millenial issues have another major problem – mom and dad constantly asking us to get married. The family astrologers are our mortal enemies now , playing the solar system based Tinder for us.

While we agree that marriage is an integral partof one's life, and especially arranged marriages are a major part of our culture, and are misunderstood across the world. Marriage is definitely an excitign journey – be it a choice of love or arranged.

Pakistani designer Nashra Balagamwala has introduced a new way to make people understand the system of arranged marriage – a board game! She has produced a board game about arranged marriage. With this, the world knows that her positition on this matter is far more nuanced, especially those who assumed that she was against it. Nashra's explain to people worldwide how it works.

The game is called Arranged!, and the way it has to be played is more interesting. The players of this game must do everything they can to avoid the matchmaker. The matchmaker is called "rishta aunty" which is moved by another player.

According to a report by Broadly, Nashra says that she wanted it to be an accurate reflection of Pakistani culture. Cards are drawn at random to make the game much more dilchasp – cards like the runaway brides, with commands like "you want to pursue a career… move four steps."

The players have to avoid the aunty at any cost – because if any of them land on the same box as the rishta aunty, they will face the concern of being married off to any of the male suitors who will be scattered around the board game. However, even though the chances of that happening are pretty low, there is a brighter aspect too – there is a chance to marry a suitor that the player has chosen for themselves!

Nashra also told the media that this talking about this is one of the most difficult things to do for her. As for her own arranged marriage, she told Broadly that she is going to keep fighting her way out of it till she meets someone who she would actually want to marry.

No Cab Driver Was Accepting This Guy’s Ride; Then He Came Up With A Genius Idea!

This often happens to us. We try to book a cab and drivers don’t accept for various of reasons. Most common reason, destination is too far! And a guy from Pakistan named Mohammad Hocane faced the same recently.

He tried to book an Uber for a destination that was quite far from his pickup location. More than 10 Uber drivers cancelled his ride because of the distance. But then he came up with a genius idea that changes everything.

His Facebook post is going viral. He wrote in his Facebook post,

Today after college, for going back to home I booked more than 10 Uber cars and all of them cancelled my ride because G15 was very far from there. So no one wanted to go.

This trick changes everything.

After this I just changed my profile name from ‘Mohammad hossian’ to ‘Fatima hossain’ and then again I booked a car and the very first captain accepted my ride which was 9 mins away from me and he reached in just 4 mins and when he saw me he was astonished and shocked.

This dude deserve a medal.

I’m definitely trying this trick next time any Uber driver cancels my ride.

Elon Musk's Epic Conversation With Planet Mars Proves He Is An Entrepreneur With A Swag!

Elon Musk is one of the greatest entrepreneur cum innovator of our time. He is taking steps for the betterment of the humanity one initiative at a time; be it Tesla or SpaceX. He was recently in headline for releasing all his patents in public to help entrepreneurs save the world. He made this announcement with a heartwarming Tweet.

Our true competition is not the small trickle of non-Tesla electric cars being produced, but rather the enormous flood of gasoline cars pouring out of the world’s factories every day

He added, “all our patent are belong to you.”

And he released all his patents which could’ve earned him a bomb money. He is not only a great humanitarian, but also a person with a great sense of humor. With all the memes he keeps sharing on Twitter, he has proved that an entrepreneur or innovator doesn’t need to be boring.

Musk recently indulged in one such Twitter conversation which proves he’s got a swag.

It all started when a person tweeted,

“I want to move to Mars. No men there.”

And a person who manages Twitter account named Mars, replied.

Mars said it doesn’t want that person. It only wants Elon. And Elon Musk promptly replied.

Mars got excited.

Elon Musk had an epic reply to Mars’ question.

And Mars replied with the hot pic. LOL

Elon Musk replied, “thank god it’s not November”, in reference to no nut November.

(FYI: No Nut November is a challenge firangi people take where they don’t have sex or masturbate during the month of November.)

Elon Musk has got some sense of humor. Keep slaying Musk.

Wish you get together with Mars soon.

11 Things Singles Can Do This Valentine’s Day!

11 Things Singles Can Do This Valentine's Day!

Valentine’s Day is right here and singles are having a hard time coping with the charades of red and pink colored balloons, teddy bears, ribbons and chocolates. Some singles love their singledom and roll their eyes looking at all the lovey-dovey couples, and some singles feel lovelorn and lonely ‘cuz they might have had their hearts broken.

Either way, those who need a break from all the love-struck couples and pyaar-themed outdoors, here are some things that you can do if you are single and quite like it. Here are some things you can do (apart from travel, cook and sleep – your regular getaway formula)

1. Unplug from electronics

A hiatus from social media is much needed at a time when everyone is posting pictures with their shona-baby and it’s really, really annoying. And even otherwise, it’s always good to take the day off from electronics, curl up with some hot chocolate and catch up on reading! (Or not text your ex)

2. Throw an anti-Valentine’s day party

Take a cue from Jessica Biel’s character in “Valentine’s Day” where she throws an anti-Valentine’s day party and actually has people having fun there! Such a party will be a big hit with your single friends

3. Go get a reading from a psychic

Go and meet your family jyotish who will tell you which planet causing you to be single. Even if you don’t believe it, humour them and tell that story to your gang on a drunken night.

There’s another option – visit a psychic, get a tarot ccard reading, visit a crystal ball reader, whatever fascinates you! It’s definitely an experience even if you’re reluctant.

4. Work for a cause

And by that, we do not mean like change the world in a day. You could volunteer at an NGO, or simply babysit for a couple that never gets a night out

5. Shop till you drop!

Valentine’s Day is as good as a festival when it comes to shopping. on a shopping spree and take advantage of the massive sales there are in every store for this day.

The offers are not just for the ladies, but men who want to upgrade their wardrobe can also find all the V-Day discount offers useful.

6. Secret Santa- like Valentine exchange

This does NOT mean you send a secret gift to your ex. You can do this with your other single friends, some of whom may even be feeling low.

Also, secret santa is too mainstream now. Better gift a single friend something rather than the forced secret santas at work where you have to get something thoughtful for a colleague you hate.

7. Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Get your singles’ group together and go have some fun you missed out on while keeping up to your rat race. It’s celebrated on February 13, BTW.

Watch that famous “Parks and Recreation” episode that started it all, it’ll give you a chance to spend quality time with people you care about. Go brunch, go paintballing or simply go to a good ol’ fashioned Bollywood dancing!

8. Aaj kuch toofaani karte hain

Do NOT plan a reunion with your exes. (Too soon?)

By toofaani, we meet catch hold of a friend and totally fake your way through couple’s deals – at spas, restaurants and every place you wanted to go. And of course, you could be the daredevil IRL and opt to go for some adventure sports by yourself. I mean commitment phobia is the biggest right?

9. Text, but NOT your ex

This may perhaps be something to do when you and your friends are a couple of shots down. Having a failed luck in love? Well do something a drunk Chandler would (or a sober Joey would)

Text all of your dating app matches wishing them a happy Valentine’s Day just to see what happens

10. Order your favorite food. ALL of it.

Food is the real bae. I mean seriously, it’s always food before dudes for a lot of us.

Buy your favorite food and relish it. Along with the fact that you don’t have to share them with literally anyone. In fact, you could even order something your ex hated and eat it like you mean it!

11. This V-Day, Veg out

Bhaisahab, Netflix and chill kijiye – literally, not in the perverse way your ex always wanted you to. Be so lazy for the day and binge watch, and binge eat. Cuddle with your pet, indulge!

I mean seriously, the amount of content today on OTT platforms is fantabuluously fantastic. If your own love story sucks or is non-existent, find a show that’s intriguing, cerebral and intellectually stimulating – you will not regret it, and not miss anything else for a long, long time.

Ahmedabad Is Doing Chipko Andolan To Save Trees From Being Chopped Down!

Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas!

What is the true meaning of ‘Vikas’? What do we mean when we use the word development? If cutting down of thousands of trees to build a new world-class highway is development, I am sorry but I am better off without it.

In the blind race towards modernization of infrastructure, rampant industrialization, and unstoppable urbanization, our governments across India has forgotten the meaning of sustainable development. Development makes sense only if it’s sustainable and how can cutting down of essential green cover of the Earth ever be sustainable? Every day we come across a new headline with a new location where a project gets passed at the cost of forest of big, old, and wonderful trees. The latest bad news comes all the way from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

HeyHi Foundation in Ahmedabad brought to our notice the chopping of trees commenced by the Forest Department near Ahmedabad Gandhinagar Highway to enhance it into a 6-lane highway. Ritesh Sharma, member of the foundation told BuddyBits,

“Forest Department officials are coming here to coordinate the cutting down of trees. The officials who are duty bound to save these trees are cutting them down. What can we do?”

Around 40 volunteers have started Chipko Andolan to save trees

HeyHi foundation has initiated a Chipko Andolan movement to save these trees. Volunteers from all over Ahmedabad are coming and hugging the trees to stop the officials from chopping down the trees.

Ritesh appeals for support.

“There are 4000+ trees planned to be chopped down. We need your support. Please raise your voices.”

The chopping down of these trees will not only lead to a huge loss to the environment in terms of trees but also wildlife. These trees are home to various kinds of birds and they will lose their homes if and when these trees are cut down.
According to the foundation, a team of 40 volunteers are on ground to do everything possible in order to save these trees from being cut down. They are also calling and hoping for support from people living in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

Let us hope that this movement changes things and save our precious trees.

India Takes First Strong Action Against Pakistan After Pulwama Attack!

India Takes First Strong Action Against Pakistan After Pulwama Attack!

February 14, 2019 when the entire world celebrated the day of love, India witnessed one of the cruelest act of hatred and terror ever. Yesterday, India was shook by the news of a brutal terror attack that martyred nearly 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. The terrorists of Pakistan sponsored JeM (Jaish-E-Mohammed) targeted a convoy of our army men with a car bomb at Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reportedly, the terrorists used a Mahindra Scorpio carrying more than 350 kg of explosives to execute this inhuman attack.

This terror attack is being marked particularly dangerous because it was a huge “security breach” since the whole area was sanitized for the caravan to have a safe journey.

The scale, extent, and brutality of this terror strike has in fact exceeded even that of the Uri attack on September 2016 which led to India’s response in the form of Surgical Strikes.

The BJP government has given a statement and assured the people of India that appropriate response will be given and the death of our soldiers will be avenged.

While India waits to see how and when the government will take necessary actions against the terrorists and their sponsor- Pakistan, the Central Government has already initiated its first big blow against Pakistan.

The government has officially withdrawn the status of ‘Most Favoured Nation’ given to Pakistan. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley briefed the media after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to discuss the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the attack.

What does ‘most favoured nation’ mean?

Most Favoured Nation is a treatment given to a trade partner that assures such a partner of non-discriminatory trade. MFN happens to be the first clause in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and hence its importance is obvious. India granted MFN status to Pakistan in 1996 and its withdrawal will effectively close down trade between the two countries.

Now what?

While the entire world is currently waiting and watching, we can sense the intention of BJP government by the Prime Minister’s overly outspoken and unrestrained speech after the terror strike.

The Prime Minister made it absolutely clear that the Indian Army has been given complete freedom to take every action possible to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Narendra Modi in what is being called the most clear, bold, and assertive message to Pakistan and the terrorists said that the terrorists have made a huge mistake and everyone involved will pay a huge price.

Rahul Gandhi also did a press conference and came out in support of the government. It was highly sensible of the Congress President to keep politics aside in these testing times.

The leaders around the world have condemned the terror strike but the Prime Minister of Pakistan – Imran Khan haven’t yet found the basic human decency to condemn such an inhuman act of terror.

ISRO Scientist Opens Cafe In Ahmedabad; To Donate Entire First Month Profit To Pulwama Martyrs!

It has been 3 days to the ghastly Pulwama attack and entire world has come to support India during this tough times. From World leaders to opposition to each and every Indian around the world is doing whatever they can to lend support to Indian army and the Government. On 15th February, we broke the story of Surat based family who decided to cancel elaborate wedding and donate Rs.16 lacs in remembrance of the Pulwama martyrs. Today, we came across a similar gesture from an ISRO scientist.

ISRO scientist, Dr. Deepak Singh has opened a space themed cafe named Cafe Planet in Ahmedabad and planned to donate entire profit of first month to the families of the soldiers martyred in Pulwama attack. According to Dr. Singh, Cafe Planet was scheduled to open on 14th February. But they postponed the launch when they heard about the attack. Talking to BuddyBits, the scientist said,

We have decided to open the cafe today, and decided to  contribute every penny of the profit collected in first month to the families of Pulwama martyrs.

He further adds,

We will not be charging a single penny to any Indian soldier or their family members who visit us until the cafe runs.

Scientist himself comes from a family that is associated with the defense services.

Deepak Singh is a scientist working in PRL (Physical Research Laboratory), one of the integral departments of ISRO which is focused on a planetary climate with a special focus on Martian climate.

Deepak’s father works in the defense ministry, in the department that creates weapons for our security forces; his grandfather was also in the same field. Both of his uncles, Mr. Vishwapal Singh Chauhan and Rakesh Singh Chauhan have served in the Indian Navy and his other uncle, Mr. Vijaypal Singh Chauhan has served in the Indian Army.

The scientist wishes to inspire Indians to contribute to the army welfare.

No matter what we do, we will never be able to repay the debt of the sacrifice our jawans give so that we can sleep peacefully at night; but we will consider ourselves lucky if our small gesture is able to inspire others to contribute to the army welfare.

Cafe Planet will open its door for the public in Ahmedabad tonight.

The space themed cafe is situated at Vaishnodevi circle near Nirma University in Ahmedabad. The cafe will open tonight and entire profit of first month will be donated to the families of Pulwama martyrs.  If you’re in Ahmedabad, do pay a visit.

Let’s Be More Compassionate Towards The Indian Armed Forces, Even When There Are No Attacks!

Let’s Be More Compassionate Towards Indian Armed Forces, Even When There Are No Attacks!

Just 48 hours after the CRPF personnel were martyred in Pulwama, while we were searching for the light amidst grief and loss, Army Major Chitresh Bisht was martyred in an IED explosion in Rajouri even before those pyres could be doused. The Major was about to get married on the 7th of March which just shows how selflessly our soldiers serve the nation and this is exactly why we should talk about our Army and the other Forces more.

There is nothing to argue about how we feel and admire the importance of these heroes only when something as big as a terror or a military attack hits the headlines. When the number of martyrs is low or say one, not many of us take it solemnly. We tend to believe that it was the soldier’s job to risk his life at the border and it is absolutely fine. It is only when the number is significant we start posting statuses and pictures, which lasts for a week or two and we eventually forget about them again.

There are many instances which go unnoticed by us, like when the Indian Army stepped in to help a pregnant woman in a snowbound place or when a Major from the Aviation Corps saved the lives of two individuals who met an accident. The two things I would like to mention here are; both of these incidents happened in February and both of these took place in Kashmir as well, just like the recent attack in Pulwama.

I am pretty sure that the number of people who would have known about Major Chitresh Bisht would have been considerably lower had the Pulwama attack not happened. Because this is the truth, we do not pay them respect until the number is big enough.

Not everyone must be knowing that these people play a major role during the rescue operations during natural calamities and disasters as well. “God came wearing the uniforms” was how the Kerala flood victims lauded the Army and the Air Force rescuers. Of course, the victims would now worship these people, because they realize how important they are. It is we who forget that we get the privilege to live in a peaceful environment and concentrate on our personal lives only because these heroes are guarding our country round the clock.

It is high time we display more compassion and love for these people and it is my sincere appeal to my countrymen to appreciate the Indian Armed Forces even when there are no terror attacks, no military attacks and admire them as much as they deserve.

We should not require another attack to talk about them. They befriend death to make sure it stays away from us and we are not supposed to take this for granted.

Also, a civilian can surely help them from outside the Defense administration. One way is to contribute to the Prime Minister’s National Defense Fund or Bharat Ke Veer and help directly. Contributing an amount as small as 10 or 50 every month may go on to provide education to a Martyr’s child. And even if you do not want to contribute to this fund, just have as much faith as you can in our Forces, because they need it. They need our voice and trust.

Poker Is Being Recognized As A Legitimate Game; Thanks To The Spartan Poker!

The 16th of February 2019 was not just another normal day for the students of one of India’s top 10 communication institutes – MICA, Ahmedabad. The Spartan Poker organized a huge online poker tournament in the college campus on this day and around 150 young minds participated and won prizes.

The atmosphere of the college was very exciting and students were found having lots of fun. It was very refreshing to see people recognize Poker as a legitimate game. The people are changing their outlook on how they see Poker as a game and not just an amusement activity. And all the credit for this goes to the ‘The Spartan Poker’, India’s leading digital gaming platform. ‘The Spartan Poker’ has previously organized similar events at the Play Lounge Mumbai, IIM Indore, IIM Calcutta, IMT Ghaziabad, and IIM Kozikode.

The folks at ‘The Spartan Poker’ are exceptionally passionate and sincere about the game. They almost made it a habit of consistently coming up with best-in-the-Industry Poker Tournaments. Their events and tournaments are well organized, extremely fair, and involve decent prize monies. The Poker Tournament at MICA gave away a prize money of Rs.75,000 alone!

The Spartan Poker began this year on a very positive note with the January 2019 IOPC crossing the GTD of INR 10+ crores against the initial INR 8+ crores.

When we asked Amin Rozani – Co-Founder and MD of The Spartan Poker, about how he felt after successful completion of the event, he said –

We at The Spartan Poker are happy that we received this opportunity to interact with the students and give them a chance to dust off the stress of studies with this fun/enthralling tournament while also giving them a chance to earn some extra pocket money. We are grateful for all the love the students have showered upon us, during our brief visit to Ahmedabad. We will come up with something exciting for MICA very soon in the future.

He further said,

It was amazing to witness 150 young minds participating in an online poker tournament. The excitement in their eyes was worth observing.

We also asked a few participating students to tell us their thoughts about it.

One of them said,

“This can be a great way to let off some stress of day to day academia and career pressure.”

While another young ma’am said,

“In a way the event was also about celebrating our Childhood memories of several weird and crazy card games!”

While many of the youngsters were fully aware of the game and its techniques, there were also those who were introduced to the game of Poker for the first time in their lives. It was an extraordinary moment of thrill and enjoyment for them!

This Is What Happened When I (Finally) Cancelled My Netflix Subscription!

Netflix has changed how we view content. We’re now the ‘hep’ gen-next who watch angrezi shows and brag about them at our schools, colleges and workplaces. And undoubtedly, the quality of content coming up on almost every OTT platform is worthy of a standing ovation. Except, we’re too lazy to get our behinds off for the writers who wrote these stories slogging their behinds.

Since I’m pretty vocal about mental health issues, and have no qualms in talking about mine, I began bingeing on Netflix like a monster. Diagnosed with clinical depression, and ashamed of myself, I hid myself behind any screen I could find – phone, laptop, tablets, television – anything that would get my mind off reality and take me to a land of fiction where things seemed.. in control.

While I had my own grim reason, not everyone has one to binge watch any TV show on Netflix, Prime, Hotstar or any show on this thriving plethora of entertainment.

All of us are glued to our screens for social media and somehow we think that watching a show is a different thing, we cannot be addicts, right?

A lot of us storytellers watch it for the writing. I started with that intention. However, I was Netflix-shamed as if it were my own Scarlet Letter. Every numpty shamed me for it.

However, I realized that it was not the addiction. I was hiding – from the world, from myself, losing my mind in some stories as they made reality easier.

What made me want to quit is – I used to be a reader. And by that I do not mean an ‘avid, voracious reader who reads Chetan Bhagat’, but a series of some six books within a week. And I began missing that feeling.

So one day, I did what Monica, Ross, Joey, Chandler and Phoebe made Rachel do – cut her credit card. Well, in my case, cancel my subscription! And boy, oh boy was that a challenge!

So, here’s what happened next.

1. Finished a book

This was the biggest motive of me doing so. Believe me, it is easy to say “Main ye sab faltu english shows nahi dekhta / dekhti. Ye Netflix-Fetflix mereko nahi samajh aata” But once you start, it digs its tentacles deep inside you.

I had not finished a single book in TWO years! And finally finished a Neil Gaiman. Phew! And my fellow writers will understand what this means. The euphoria of finishing a book you had not in years!

2. Reconnected with family

“Ye mummy log WhatsApp pe itne advance kaise ho gaye?” “Ye chaar saal ki bacchi poore YouTube ka post-mortem kar chuki hai?” “Yaar mera bhai hamesha itna jhakaas aadmi tha?”

These were only SOME of the reactions I had once I came out of my screen-confined hermit phase. I mean I actually sat and made puris with Maamis and Chachis and gossiped about kiski beti kisse shaadi kar rahi hai. They could be international news correspondents, had their talents not been wasted on raita banana and failana all day.

3 Gym Jaao! GYM! GYM!

I said that how Zohra Sehgal tells Amitabh Bacchan in Cheeni Kum. and well he finds Tabu only a day later. Apna naseeb sirf muscle bana ke broadcast karneka hai. But well, atleast I became a healthier person and not looked like a sloth out of a decade of hibernation.

Downside: Yaar ye rishte waali aunty log zombie hai kya? Dimaag kha kha ke peecha nahi chhodti

4. Money spent into an extra plate of Chicken Biryani and Galouti Kebab

Paisa bada bachta hai! NOT KIDDING!

Yes, it does not seem like a lot, but for someone who’s unemployed but really loves watching new shows and following their writers, it did not mean anything. I mean I would gladly lutaao my entire jaydaad to watch Mofatt-Gatiss, Duffer brothers, Sera Gamble / Caroline Kepnes, Charlie Brooker or Shonda Rhimes present their best mind-bending stories.

However, taking a sabbatical from Netflix was really not that bad an idea because despite the withdrawal symptoms, it actually saved a lot of money, and I began to cook again!

5. Slept my ‘hind off

Sleep is important. Dark circles are a curse to humanity. Sleep is the biggest bae. So screw Valentine’s, screw re-watching Kissing Booth for the gazillionth time and screw fantasizing about Penn Badgley.

I slept and woke up feeling so fresh it was nothing compared to the mainstream Netflix and Chill.

New Motto: Sleep Before Sleaze.

10 Things About Life That Our First Love Taught Us

First love. It’s what keeps the homes of poets and writers running.

First love, no matter how it may have ended (and you’re lucky if it never has!), is divine. It’s the purest form of love you feel for other person – it’s so powerful that it shapes everything you will know about love, about the world, and yourself. When I think of what I felt with my first love, it is too pristine, too flawless, like velvet. And again, listen to any love song for proof.

This is about how first love may seem too good to be true, almost surreal, but at the same time is giving you a lesson you require to know everything the universe needs you to.

1. You Are The Source Of Your Own Happiness

You get used to the other person treating you special. And one day, problems knock the doors of your ideal life with them – it could be difference between the two of you, or external influences. And you realise that you’ve been too dependent on them, and that feeling of mush that you feel around them to feel good about yourself.

Tou most probably must have been in your teens. At that age, we’re all blind in love to realise that YOU are the person responsible for your happiness, not them.

2. Friendship Is Above Everything

Friends are protective. And in a time when you have just fallen in love for the first time, and recived it back, it’s hard to listen to the faint voices of your friends calling out to you – some who need you, some who miss you, and some who may be seeing some red flags in your relationships.

When you’re navigating through the testing, yet beautiful waters of your relationship, friends just look like blurry blobs of faces calling out to you. However, they are the ones there for you no matter what.

Whether your love is around or not, friends the ones who clean the mess up when you’re in one. And this is what settles in our hearts. THIS is why friends’ opinion matters on every single relationship you have – They’ll be there for you

3. Silence Works Better Than Words

You realise that sometimes, lashing out at that person is not the best solution. And the anger issues need to be managed. Being silent can resolve several issues, and we take this lesson with us to every other relationship we have.

Anger stems from an insecurity that things might not be as they are. But your first love has either made you extremely secure or extremely protective and defensive – in both cases we do not prefer reacting right away. This is the best lesson, IMO.

4. Me Is More Important Than We

Spending all that time with your other half is great. But after a point, a sense of individuality starts to set in. This is feeling settles in when you have had your break-up. And while all of them hurt, the first one is the most destructive.

And amidst the destruction, you realise that you will do just fine. As Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love says, “Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation.” And the transformation, you realise happens only when you have your “ME” time.

6. Realize Beauty Of Pain

The lyrics of love songs suddenly begin to make sense. Be it happy or sad ones, the lines are so relatable you cannot stop feeling that pain you buried away, or the feeling they invoke in you.

Of course, becoming Ranbir Kapoor from Rockstar is not the answer, but it definitely is a phase. And in the coming phases of life when things seem really rough, the pain seems not just a bit more bearable, but you also sometimes find it beautiful

7. A Choice To Make Or Break Yourself

I started writing seriously after my first break-up. And I believe everyone should fall in love atleast once – to discover their real calling, to realise who they really are.

Ask anyone this – what change did their first love bring in their lives. And below all the complains and sadness, there will be a story on how work was the best distraction, and became got better at it.

However, it is always a choice. Remember Bipasha’s character from Bachna Ae Haseeno? She made a choice too. After that one big heartbreak – to channel your passion to something productive or creative, or become the next Devdas being cynical for life. And mind you, this choice is what we become for the rest of our lives.

8. Get Over Your Fears

The biggest fear at one point in everyone’s life is separation from the one you love so much. The pain seems unbearable at that moment, crying in a pillow in the middle of the night, wallowing in self pity and constantly talking to friends about them; but you get over it even if it doesn’t feel like.

And then you realise – that while they brought out the best in you, you can do that by yourself too! Your biggest fear has already come true and you handled it.. Ab life ko jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad le

9. Chemistry And Biology Are Completely Are Different

Getting physically intimate with the one you love is fantastic. It’s magic.

But the magic has worn off, and perhaps one of you fell out of love, you realise the difference between love and lust for the first time. It comes to a point where you begin to question your own morals, but also get more self aware on what exactly do you want in life – and is it with that person?

10. You Don’t Choose Love, Love Chooses You

I remember swearing off love after my first love dumped my behind for someone else. But guess what? It’s never your choice.

Love is a sneaky little b***h that will creep into your life even when you have all the doors to your heart shut tight, and sealed with metal. Still trying to figure out how that happens.

So sure, we all now run from it thinking love is nothing but pain. But if it wasn’t for that pain. Would you even be where you are? And then again.. the pain’s a teensy weensy bit fun, right?

6 Reasons Why Kaju Katli Is Real Bae

It’s a debate, what may be the best mithai out there. As if class and tier system were not enough for people, some even put sweets in this system, questioning where mankind – sorry – peoplekind is heading after-all.

All sweets are good in their place, but Kaju Katli is special in its own way.

No matter how many sweet dishes make it to the strictly subjective top tiers; the thin, smooth, instantly melt in mouth goodness will remain everyone’s top favorite. Here’s why.

1. Nostalgia

Who hasn’t snuck in a few Kaju Katlis for themselves when mom would put them out for relatives? The quintessential sweet for every celebration, there’s not a single Indian occasion when Kaju Katli is absent.

2. Simplicity Is Key

By simplicity, we do not just mean the appearance. This is the only sweet that does not need to sell itself. It’s going to be chosen when on a plate by default.

The cashew goodness is too good to let go. And of course, cashew is healthy too. But mind you, making these at home needs real practice – needs perfect mix of creamy cashew consistency and sweetness. Don’t underestimate the power of a halwai, we say!

3. Silver Coating

You know how they say there’s always a silver lining to any situation? Well, Kaju Katli is the physical manifestation of this phrase.

We mean, who can resist the sublime taste of cashew with mawa, which is so visually appealing?

4. Variety is the spice (sweet) of life

This is one item that tastes delicious in every single variant it comes in.

People add chocolate, saffron, rose, pistachios and various ingredients, which only enhance the sweet when mixed with the creaminess of Kaju. And hey! There are Kaju Katli sandwiches too! YUM!

5. It’s The Comfort Sweet

For those of us who are not exactly chocolate lovers, Kaju Katli is the best offering a halwai would have for us. So when we’re feeling low, it’s Kaju Katli we turn to, to feel better about life

It’s no-nonsense, sweet only as much as required, and has some real texture to it, if you know what I mean. Perfect comfort after a rough day.

6. No Need To Overstate The Obvious

Well there’s been enough debate about this, right? We all know that no matter how many times some of them decide to downplay Kaju Katli, it already has a special place in our hearts that no sweet will replace.

So, let everyone shout from the rooftops and display other sweets as superior. But when you know something’s epic, you just know!

Special thanks to Kaushal Thakkar and folks at Thakkar Motiharji Mithaiwala for beautiful pics.

15 Best Pieces From The Zine The Right Foot That You Need To Read Right Now!

You know how in schools they always asked us to express ourselves. How to draw, how to read, how to write, how to recite. That’s when we dropped everything, we were brought to imagine, to create, to be. We all are built with some very sensitive, emotional, expressive corners in heart. There is some or the other story being created in that one corner, which we rarely choose to visit, which we should visit really often. No matter what you engage yourself with in your life, at some point in your day, you need something light, you seek for something to connect with. Some of us don’t choose to express, we instead just choose to relate and connect. While some of us choose to express, more and more, in order to touch someone with art. Art is everywhere.

At some point in life, we all have engaged ourselves with art. We all have had secret diaries, or drawers filled with drawing books. Some also were fond of scrapbooks. The only thing that went wrong was, nobody really introduced us to the idea of ZINES. A zine is nothing but a very raw, honest, random piece of art. This a really very old concept. It is like a magazine or can be like a fanzine too. A zine is a culture in itself. It is like a book, but not just another book. It doesn’t follow any format. It is random, raw and honest. If you are looking for a Wikipedia definition, “a zine is a small circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images usually reproduced via photocopier.” Basically, a zine can be illustrations, photographs, write ups, scribbled diagrams, conversations, anything that is art. It can also be a combination of everything together.

The artists that you hear about are not the only artists alive. ‘Zinesters’ are the people who write zines! Zines are something we all need to be introduced to. “I want to invent a mirror that mirrors the inner-beauty” says one such great zinester, Shobhit Shyam Narang. A believer of old school romance, his life revolves around art. Call it travelling, love, brokenness, self love, vulnerability, relations, humanity or spirituality, his zine covers it all. A zine that we need to read now, the zinester that we need to know about.

Here’s the curation of 15 best pieces from “The Right Foot”.

1. You home seems home because of all the homemakers. They deserve every bit of respect.

2. This will hit you hard in heart.

3. Worth taking a screenshot!

4. Ouch!

5. Learn something out of the book. Absorb the beauty around you. Everything has a story to tell. Everything has a lesson to teach. Learn something new.

6. Put this in your “self love” list.

7. ” I earn a lot… but just emotions!” What a true artist!

8. More zines might bring some change too.

9. Now you know how to deal with a bad day! Sleep over it.

10. Take some time out for the things you love. Now.

11. Now that’s some heart warming poetry.

12. Broken, but beautiful.

13. Grow more artists because every heart needs some dose of art.

14. Not just write ups, but a zine talks about anything that’s art. Random art.

15. “Experiments and art” like he mentioned. When he talked about the “blackouts” in the zine. What story do you create out of a story? Scribble out. Make your own story.

Shobhit Shyam Narang, we can’t thank you enough for contributing your brilliant work. Thank you for being one of those who spread the idea of a “zine.” Preventing zine culture is so important and for all the right reasons. With your zine, you’ve surely melted a lot of hearts out there. With your art, you’ve touched many hearts.

As an artist, your mission seems accomplished. We wait out here, for your new zines to come out.
